Pet Adoption Information and Listings
At PAWS Darwin, we aim to find the best matched home for our pets the first time around!!!
PAWS Darwin encourages a healthy, happy and balanced relationship between a family and their pet. To achieve this, prior to an adoption of a PAWS pet we have all adopters attend one of our PAWS Pets for Life information sessions. These sessions are aimed at educating our adoptive families on a wide range of aspects that they may encounter when adopting a shelter pet into their lives.
PAWS Darwin discourages the impulse purchasing of domestic pets, and through our information seminars we are educating people and helping to think their decision and choices through before committing to a pet that may not be the best match, or a pet that they may not be ready for.
Our PAWS Pets for Life information seminars are held on Saturdays at 1pm and are located at the Salvation Army, Palmerston (cnr Temple Terrace and Woodroffe Avenue). There is no requirement to book in for this seminar and we welcome all to attend, you do not have to be adopting one of our pets to come along.
Home Trial Process
We offer a 3 day home trial for our pets over 6 months of age who have been desexed. Due to younger pets not having complete vaccination coverage we are unable to allow them out on home trial.
Our home trial process does include the adoption fee of the pet plus an additional $50 deposit, which is refunded if the trial does not work out. If the trial is successful the deposit is refunded.
